Collaborations are just as they are called: something you work on with other people. In this case, a story is started in a new thread. The member starting the story writes the first part. It could be a hundred words. It could be ten paragraphs. The next person will then write a portion. And so on and so forth.
All site rules apply. No explicit stuff, no heavily opinionated controversy, etc.
Eventually the story must come to an end. Do not, however, just have "rocks fall, everyone dies" situations just because you don't know what to write. If you can't think of something, let someone else take a turn.
There are different types of collaborations. Each one will usually have its own rule set as the creator sees fit.
